Age gate
Link in bio with a built-in 18+ age gate
An age gate on your link in bio is a confirmation screen shown before adult content: “you must be 18 or older”. Here’s what it does, what it doesn’t, and how to add one without turning real visitors away.

If any link on your bio page leads to adult content, most platforms and ad networks expect a confirmation step in front of it. It is also just good practice: the people who tapped by mistake bounce, and the people who meant to arrive click through.
This link contains adult content. Confirm you are 18 or older.

What an age gate actually does
- Shows a confirmation before the content loads — not after, not on the destination page, but on the link itself.
- Remembers the answer on that device for a set period (Linkamy uses 30 days) so returning visitors don’t see it every time.
- Filters out accidental taps and gives you a clean, defensible “we asked” step.
What it doesn’t do
Be clear-eyed about the limits so you don’t rely on it for more than it gives you:
- It is not identity verification. It asks; it does not check an ID or a credit card.
- It does not, by itself, satisfy every jurisdiction’s law. Some regions now require verified age checks for adult sites. An age gate is the baseline, not the whole legal answer — check what applies where your audience is.
- It is not a paywall or a login. It is a yes/no confirmation.
How to add one without adding friction
- Gate only the links that need it. Your Spotify link doesn’t need an 18+ screen; your OnlyFans link does. Per-link control keeps the rest of your page frictionless.
- Keep the copy plain. “This link contains adult content. Confirm you are 18 or older.” One line, one button.
- Make it remember. A gate that reappears on every visit trains your real fans to hesitate.
- Don’t stack it with three other interstitials. One confirmation, then straight through.
Turning it on in Linkamy
On any link, switch on Age gate 18+. Visitors get a clean confirmation screen before the redirect, and it’s remembered for 30 days on that device. It works alongside the in-app browser escape, so the visitor confirms once and then lands in their real browser — where the sign-in or checkout behind the link actually works.
The age gate is included on the Pro and Growth plans. Free to try, no card.
Stop losing taps to the in-app browser
A Linkamy link sends people to Safari or Chrome, where logins and Apple Pay work. Free to start, no card. Your first link takes about thirty seconds.
