Reddit and X Link in Bio: Stop Losing Clicks in the In-App Browser
Reddit and X are where many creators send people to subscribe, tip or buy. The link you put there has to survive two things: where it sits on the profile, and the browser it opens in. Here is how to set up both.

If you promote on Reddit or X, most of the people you want never type your address. They tap whatever link your profile shows, from inside the app. That makes two questions matter: can they find the link, and does it work once they tap it.
Where the link goes on Reddit
- Use your profile’s Social Links. Reddit lets you add up to five links to your profile (Edit profile, then Social links), from a list of platforms or as a custom URL. They show as buttons under your name.
- Don’t rely on links typed into the About text. Depending on the app or site version they may not be clickable, so the Social Links buttons are the safer place.
- Read each subreddit’s rules before you put a link in a post. Communities differ a lot on self-promotion, and many point people to your profile instead. One clean link on the profile works in all of them.
Where the link goes on X
- Put it in the website field of your profile. It is the one link visitors expect to find there, so make it the one that matters.
- Repeat it in a pinned post if you want a line of context next to it.
What happens after the tap
Both apps can open links in their own built-in browser instead of Safari or Chrome. That browser keeps its own cookies, so the visitor is logged out of everything, and it often can’t reach the phone’s password manager, Face ID or Apple Pay and Google Pay. For a free page that doesn’t matter. For a subscribe or checkout page it does.
- The visitor lands on your page logged out, even on sites they use every day.
- Saved passwords and passkeys can’t fill the form.
- The wallet button can be missing or fail at the last step.
- Google sign-in can refuse to run inside an embedded browser.

Posting this link yourself? A Linkamy link opens in the real browser: automatic on Android, one tap on iPhone. Free, no card, first link in about 30 seconds.

- Open your profile from inside the Reddit app, then inside the X app, and tap your link the way a visitor would.
- Try to finish what you want visitors to do: sign in, subscribe, pay.
- Do the same from Safari or Chrome and compare. The gap is what you are losing.
One link for every platform
Instead of pasting a different address on each profile, put one Linkamy link everywhere. When someone taps it from inside an app, Linkamy recognises the app, including Reddit and X, and sends them to the real browser.
- Android: the hand-off is automatic.
- iPhone: Apple doesn’t allow a page to switch browsers silently, so the visitor sees a short page that shows how to open the link in Safari.
- Analytics: each tap is recorded with the device and the app it came from, so you can see how much of your Reddit and X traffic arrives in an in-app browser.
- 18+ content: if your links lead to adult content, the paid plans can show an age confirmation before the visitor continues.
